Kaltenbach KC-1200 flame cutting robot / notching robot is suitable for economical notching of profiles and square tubes.

The Kaltenbach KC notching robot is suitable for quick notching of steel beams, H profiles, U profiles, angle profiles, and square tubes. Notching with a CNC-controlled automatic flame cutting system was a beneficial revolution for series production by reducing previously manual notching processing with a hand-held cutting torch.

The KC notching robot is in very good condition and can be shown on short notice. The notching system includes a transport system consisting of a roller conveyor system and a measuring pusher clamp system for precise positioning of steel profiles.

 

The notching robot is equipped with an oxy-acetylene unit for acetylene gas.

 

The Kaltenbach KC notching robot system consists of a stable machine portal with a Kuka robot mounted on a cross beam. The tested Kuka robot with its moving axes ensures that all release positions can be reached. Seven moving axes ensure precise positioning of profile beams, angle steel, or square tubes. The compact Kuka robot covers six moving axes. The axis mounted on the cross shaft ensures the robot's positioning in the transverse axis. Workpieces move in the X-axis (longitudinal axis) with a solid, sliding measuring cart, which is guided along the rack on the pushing side on the roller conveyor. In this way, even heavy profile beams can be moved and economically notched in connection with a driven roller conveyor. The hydraulic clamping system secures the workpieces during the thermal cutting process.

Programming the Kaltenbach KC robot requires good operator skills. CAD data provided by the client or project department is transferred to the system's CUT Manager in DSTV format via the DSTV interface. This can be done via an online connection or through a data medium. This results in a 3D representation of the components. The "Moses" software then generates the necessary robotic data from the DSTV data. The "Moses" software by AUTOCAM Informationstechnik GmbH is an automatic CAD and CAM link to the Kaltenbach KC robot controller for notching in plasma and oxygen cutting processes. Then, with new workpieces, collision checking and robot axis positioning are first verified. This is followed by cutting and finally the removal of finished products with a roller conveyor on the exit side.
