Minimal manual intervention & high flexibility
AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE UP TO 10 TOOLS
The Voortman V613 has two automatic toolchangers with space for up to 10 tools. This increases your flexibility and freedom in carrying out a diverse range of processes with the V613, such as carbide drilling, thread-tapping, countersinking, marking and centerpoint marking. The automatic toolchanger adds to the overall automation level, eliminating the need for an operator being present at this drilling machine.
PROCESSING ALL SIDES
The Voortman V613 beam drilling machine is equipped with a rotatable drilling head that can drill both flanges as well as the web. An underside layout marking unit can also be added for one-pass layout to reduce cost in further assembly. Combined with a total of 10 tool spaces available in the automatic toolchanger, your flexibility in processing as well as your overall productivity increases.
Fast & accurate profile measuring
ROLLER FEED MEASURING & TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
The Voortman roller feed system is the fastest measuring system for profiles in the market. By combining two driven and two pressure rolls with large contact area, your profiles are tightly clamped during processing. Two measuring discs keep track of your profile’s position while moving it at high speed. The profile needs to be clamped only once, eliminating waiting time between sequential profiles. The roller-feed system is very compact and fits in any workshop.
GRIPPER TRUCK MEASUREMENT & TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
If you’re producing many small products, Voortman offers a quick and powerful servo driven gripper truck. This measuring system is capable of moving even the heaviest profiles. The gripper truck can be combined with a VB Series beam sawing machine. For full automation, a Short Product Removal System (SPRS) can be installed, in which the gripper clamps all products up to 1.400 mm (4-1/2′). during cutting. Afterwards, the products are transported sideways. Trim cuts and products smaller than 250 mm (10″) are dropped into a separate bin.
Save time and reduce costs with 4-side layout marking
The Voortman V613 can be equipped with an underside marking unit, saving time and money in the assembly area of your workshop. While the rotating drill head can reach 3 sides of the profile, a separate underside marking unit can be installed to mark detailed part numberings on the underside of the web. This speeds up assembly in your workshop or on the construction site with fewer errors than manual marking. The marks are always visible, even after shot blasting or painting.
Roller feed system for fast and accurate measuring & processing
Voortman’s renowned roller feed system is one of the quickest and most accurate measurement systems available. Profiles are securely clamped prior to drilling with two driven and two pressure rolls with large contact area. The two measuring discs keep an accurate position of your profile while moving it through the system at top speed. You can significantly reduce waiting time since profiles only need to be clamped once.
High Productivity – Rotating drill head processes 3 sides
The Voortman V613 beam drilling machine is equipped with one rotating drill head capable of drilling both flanges as well as the web. Up to 10 tools can be automatically changed, increasing overall flexibility and productivity. An underside layout marking unit can be added for more automation and less need for manual material handling.
Automatic tool changing (10 pcs)
The V613 has two automatic tool changers for holding up to 10 tool units – carbide tipped drills, HSS drills, thread-tapping, countersinking, layout marking, centerpoint marking, etc. An optional underside layout marking unit further automates production and lowers labor costs. Ordering tools is quick and easy with Voortman’s Parts & Consumables department, which will recommend the best tools available for your machine. More tools available in the tool changer means increased flexibility and freedom to carry out a wide variety of processes with the V613. With all of the automated features included, there’s no need for an operator with the V613 drilling machine.
Automatic numbering for part recognition
The V613 can be equipped with a VN36 hydraulic numbering unit capable of hard stamping part numbers. This eases part identification in further production, keeping an accurate ID on the part at all time. The numbering unit consists of a rotating disc with 36 changeable characters at 10 mm height. Characters are visible after shot blasting and painting with the hydraulic numbering unit.
The V613 can process the following profiles: I-Beams, H-Beams, Channels, Flat bar, Angle iron, T-bar, Square tubes and Rectangle tubes. These profiles have built-in settings to carry out processing without manual programming in the software, saving you a lot of time. Features are available for handling small profiles and performing more operations automatically, reducing labor costs and lead times for your projects.

INTEGRATION WITH YOUR SHOP
The fastest measuring and transportation system for profiles in the market
The Voortman roller feed measuring system uses two feeder rolls to move material. Two measurement wheels are installed to accurately track the profile’s position. Feeder rolls are often used because of the required space and the flexibility when integrated into a larger system. With a measuring roll system, it is also possible to load a new profile once the first profile has passed the edge of the cross transports.
Since a feeder roll does not have a rail, it is possible to feed into the machine from two sides. With Voortman, you have a choice in measurement systems, making it possible to tailor the system to the characteristics of your production database.
A strong and robust servo driven gripper truck for processing many small products
Voortman also offers a strong and robust servo driven gripper truck. This truck is the fastest truck available, adapting its velocity dynamically to the profile’s total weight. This makes the truck more agile and safe for the operator. The feeder truck holds the material with a wide clamp, which is rotated automatically when the geometry of the profile demands. This measuring system is capable of moving even the heaviest profiles without losing its stability.
The gripper truck can be combined with the VB beam sawing machine – often with an automatic Short Product Removal System (SPRS) where the gripper clamps all products up to 1.400 mm (4-1/2′). during cutting, and then short products are transported sideways. With the SPRS and the gripper truck, the drill and saw become fully autonomous with clean cuts automatically dropped into a separate bin. Just start your latest production run before you close the factory for the night and arrive in the morning with all products processed and sorted on the outfeed cross transports.
Reduce labor costs and increase efficiency
MSI, also referred to as Multi System Integration, opens the door to fully automate your production by connecting machines with cross transports, roller conveyors, product buffers, and material sensors. Production data only needs to be imported once and then MSI automatically distributes the data to all machines integrated in your production system.
VACAM decides optimal material route
Based on the production on hand, customer preferences and the available machinery in the MSI-line, VACAM automatically decides the optimal route to reach the highest efficiency. MSI designates the end of transporting raw profiles and semi-finished products from machine to machine. MSI stands for one integrated production system. You can track and monitor every profile, product and future planning in real time by using VACAM, Voortman’s proprietary CNC control software installed on every machine.
Designing your optimal layout
Together with you, the Voortman team designs the entire layout based on your current or expected production characteristics, such as type of profiles, product length, number of processes, hours in your work week and budget.
An integral plan to keep your production line safe and up and running
After installing a machine or production line, Voortman installs a net of safety measures. These safety measures comprise of light curtains, emergency cords and emergency stop buttons. Voortman has made it one of its priorities to deliver a safe production line, yet not hold up production if the operator needs to enter the safe zone. This is accomplished by using gated light curtains allowing loading and unloading while the machines continue processing, and by delivering remote controls with a kill switch that operators can use when carrying out tasks inside the safety zone.
